To be honest, I am spending much time of my life using Twitter. As for my most active account, I have ever opened some twenty thousand tweet to the public. Also, I surf on Twitter every night and everyday looking for the more interesting tweets. I cannot even assume my life without Twitter. I am made by Twitter. I am living because I am doing Twitter. This is what I am. Yes, as a student, it may be regarded as a little bad thing for sure. I know this. But I want to speak honestly to the people being here that Twitter has a chance to make it more wonderful to live in every lives of every high school students. So if a high school student is not still a Twitter user, then I willingly say he should start it. I have two reasons to follow this.
First, we can associate with other students. I belong to quiz club in high school, and some of the members by themselves follow many people that also play quiz in other Japanese high schools. In this way, we can exchange our information, or even plan together to join a competition. This is my first reason.
And my second reason, the biggest for me, is that we can know much about university students by doing Twitter. There are many Twitter users that are university bachelors, masters and doctors. They are exactly what we are going to be, so I believe that we high school students can learn a plenty of things from them. Most of them always tweet about their school life or about what they are learning in the university, and they can be very helpful. I would like to show you an example on one person. He is on 4th grade of bachelor in Kyoto university, and studies mainly linguistics, and also some foreign languages such as English, French, Italian, German and Arabic. His tweets tell me a little about how his university life is going. For instance, he tweets about the atmosphere in the lectures, characters of the professors, and his lifestyle of living alone in his room of the apartment. His word is always clear, so I can easily imagine what it will be if I become a university student. This connects directly my motivation of daily studying at home and school. Of course he even does academical tweets, too. He loves linguistics and languages, so he often introduces the attractiveness of linguistics, and the charm points of a particular foreign language considering in terms of linguistics. Despite the fact that I cannot understand many parts of his tweets, they help me get used to the world of languages. This is very special for me, because I like languages. Since his tweets are extraordinarily marvelous, one day I decided to follow him. Then, what do you think that happened after that? Astonishingly, he gave me following back. From that day, I even sometimes talk with him about a wide range of topics on Direct Message. I am learning many new things with Twitter day by day. What kind of university students will be helpful no doubt perfectly depends on a person, but I assure that no one will fail to find someone great because the world of Twitter is tremendously spacious. And this is my second reason.
In the society's common view, it seems that high school students' being obsessed with Twitter stands for laziness and darkness. However, as I stated just now, it has numerous advantages for us. If we use it very well, our future will be bright and shining. Let's never underestimate its effect. Let's not forget its magnificence. And let's begin Twitter.
